Who this policy covers
This policy explains how StockỌja ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit this website, create a StockỌja account, use the StockỌja app, or buy from an online store that a business runs on StockỌja.
Businesses that use StockỌja decide what information they record about their own customers, staff and suppliers. For that information, the business is responsible for how it is used, and we process it on their behalf to provide the service.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your password (stored only as a secure hash) or your Google sign-in.
- Business information: your business name, stores, staff accounts, and what you record in the app: products, stock, sales, customers, suppliers, expenses and settings.
- Online store orders: when someone orders from a StockỌja store, the name, email and phone number they give, the order and the pickup branch.
- Payments: subscription and online-store payments are processed by Paystack. We receive confirmation of the payment and limited details such as the amount and status; we do not store full card numbers.
- Technical information: basic logs such as IP address, browser type and the time of requests, used to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
We do not sell personal information.
- To provide the service: sign you in, store your business records, process sales and orders, and send emails such as verification, password resets, order updates and pickup codes.
- To keep accounts secure, for example by detecting repeated failed sign-ins or suspicious activity.
- To bill subscriptions and to support you when you contact us.
- To improve StockỌja, using aggregated information that does not identify you.
How we protect it
Each business’s data is kept separate from every other business. Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, staff access is controlled by roles, and sensitive changes are recorded in an activity log. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected users if a breach puts their information at risk, as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep account and business records while your account is active, because businesses need their sales and stock history. Financial records may need to be kept for longer to meet legal and accounting obligations. If you close your account, contact us about what happens to your data.
Your choices and rights
You can see and update most of your information in the app. Subject to applicable data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or to object to certain uses. Customers of a business on StockỌja should first contact that business.
To make a request, email support@stockoja.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date on this page and, for significant changes, let account holders know.
